The Rio Negro is a custom dining table handcrafted in solid Australian Blackbutt at our Brookvale workshop in Sydney. Like the Patagonia, it features the same distinctive organic tabletop shape: a softly curved silhouette with a generous 25mm roundover on the underside that catches the light and gives the top a floating, refined presence. Where it differs is in the legs: four elegantly tapered round legs, each joined to the frame using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, giving the piece a lighter, more graceful character that brings a distinctly local warmth to the dining room.
Blackbutt is one of Australia's most widely respected hardwoods. It has a pale straw to golden-brown colour with a medium grain that gives it a natural, earthy quality. It is extremely hard and resistant to daily wear, making it an excellent choice for a family dining table.
The Rio Negro is fully made to order at our Sydney workshop. We work with each customer to finalise the dimensions, leg design, and finish that suits their home.
