The La Plata is a custom dining table handcrafted in solid Spotted Gum at our Brookvale workshop in Sydney. Spotted Gum is one of Australia's most striking native hardwoods, and the La Plata is designed to let the timber speak - clean lines, honest proportions, and a finish that brings out the full depth and character of the wood.
Spotted Gum is renowned for its interlocking grain, which creates a distinctive wavy or ribbon figure that shifts in the light. Its colour ranges from pale cream through warm grey-brown to rich chocolate, often with dramatic contrast between boards. It is one of the hardest and most durable Australian timbers, genuinely built to last generations.
The La Plata is fully made to order at our Sydney workshop. We work with each customer to select boards, finalise dimensions, and choose the right finish for their space.
